The West and Central Africa Regional Secretariat (WCARS) is a section under the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD) and represents 23 countries from the West and Central Africa Regions. It is officially established in Durban, South Africa at the 16th World Congress of WFD held in July 2011.
It liaise between the WCARS ordinary members and WFD. Its main aim is to promote deaf human rights including sign language, sign language interpreting, deaf education and accessibility for the deaf communities in the West and Central Africa countries.
